Vigente.
Mojácar will shine once again this Saturday 20th of September with the celebration of the Night of the Candles, an event that has already become one of the most highly anticipated events of the year and which in 2025 comes with more surprises than ever.
From 8pm onwards, the municipality’s historic centre will be transformed into a dreamlike setting illuminated by more than 7,000 candles, creating a magical path through the village's streets and squares. This year, the decorations promise to be the most spectacular to date, with a giant moon in Plaza Nueva taking centre stage.
Music will take over from 9pm, filling Mojácar with live sounds: intimate piano and singing in Plaza Frontón, Nadia’s violin in Plaza Parterre, Aitor Gómez’s guitar in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Juanma Linde’s saxophone in Plaza del Caño, and two batucada performances, at 10pm and 11.30 pm., that will get everyone moving. For those who want to gaze at the sky, telescopes will be set up at the Castle Viewpoint to contemplate the stars and enjoy a complete experience under the sky.
This year the gastronomic offering is also being expanded with food trucks dotted around the village, offering a wide variety of options for outdoor dining while enjoying the music and the unique atmosphere of the night.
The Mayor of Mojácar, Francisco García Cerdá, highlighted the importance of this celebration:
“The Night of the Candles is one of our hallmarks. Mojácar becomes a magical place where residents and visitors come together to enjoy a unique setting. This year we have prepared surprises that will make this edition the most special of all.”
Meanwhile, Tourism Councillor, María Gracia Alarcón, underlined the importance of sustainable mobility:
“We have reinforced the bus service to make access to the event easier and reduce traffic in the old town. We invite everyone to use public transport and enjoy this experience comfortably and safely.”
Mojácar's Night of the Candles promises to be a complete sensory experience: light, music, food, and the incomparable atmosphere of the village under the stars. A night to explore, listen, savour, and, above all, remember.
